Photo Requirements for your Pet Portrait Art   I will need a good photo of your pet. It can be a 4 X 6 or larger. I can only paint a portrait as good as the photo. Please check information below  or Photo Requirements Page about the photo quality. 1. Print Film If you have photograph that meets the requirements, please send it in the mail (postal). I can scan it to meet the requirements for enlargement. A 4 X 6 is OK , as long as it is not a copy, such as a Wal Mart photocopier. These tend to be grainy when enlarged. 2.Digital Camera Photos If you have a good digital photo or photos, please put them on a CD and postal mail to me. 3. If you have a photo from a professional photography studio, please get a release form from the studio, so that I have permission to paint form the photo. 4. Please send as many photos as you like, however I will use one photo for your painting. You will need to let me know which photos you chose for the artwork. I prefer the photos be postal mailed, so that I have an actual photo. Emailing photos can change color and clarity. All photos will be returned in good condition.
Photo Requirements: I can only paint a portrait as good as the photo. If the photo is blurry, out of focus, or too small, I cannot see what I have to paint. Below is information and samples of the type of photos needed to get the perfect portrait. FOCUS / CLARITY Even though this is a smaller photo (above) of the face, the cats face is definitely clearer. Note the clarity of the eyes, nose and fur detail.  GOOD	BAD / OUT OF FOCUS PHOTO This photo (above) is actually a better close up portrait photo, but due to the lack of focus, it is not a good photo to paint from.  BAD

I have cropped and enlarged the eye section of the (above) photo. Compare the clarity of the eyes to    the other photo. The nose area is still detailed and  the fur pattern is still evident.  MORE BELOW	Note the lack of detail in eyes and nose of (above) photo. Both of these photo were scanned at the same resolution. COMPOSITION /CLOSENESS                                       In this photo the kitten 'fills the photo' size over half.  The photo is also taken at the 'same level' as the kitten.   GOOD	In this photo the kitten is a very small percentage of the photo. The photo is taken as an 'overhead' view of the kitten. This can cause distortions and is not a very pleasing angle for a painting.  BAD
